Former school bus driver sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual assault
PORT WASHINGTON- A former Port Washington school bus driver is going to prison for 10 years.
Randy Mayer will spend the next decade behind bars for sexually assaulting three young boys while on a school bus.
Mayer did not talk in court, but says he maintains his innocence
"Your actions are so horrific that you should be punished," said Ozaukee County Judge Sandy Williams.
Judge Williams told Mayer, he left her no choice but to sentence the 58-year-old to a decade in prison.
"Until you recognize and accept the fact that you molested three boys, this community will be in danger of you," said Judge Williams.
Parents of two victims testified in court that their sons, and their families will never be the same.
"I never want another family to suffer the way our family has," said one mother.
"It's deeper than just the poor little child that went through this," said one father. "It's his family, the nightmares, his reluctance to play any kind of soccer."
Mayer's attorney says he hasn't discussed an appeal with his client.
"I'm never going to argue with the judge's decision," said attorney Michael Penkwitz. "It's my client's right to argue with the judge's decision."
One victim's mother told TODAY'S TMJ4 after court that this sentencing will help her family move forward, but that it will never be enough.
"Being a parent, hearing those three boys, being a parent to one of those boys, no, no mother could stand here and say that it's enough," said the mother.
Mayer will also serve ten years extended supervised probation after his ten years in prison.
