MILWAUKEE - The excessive heat has prompted the state Dept. of Transportation to warn drivers to keep an eye out for buckling roads.

"It can happen anywhere," DOT maintenance supervisor Adrian Lopez said.  "Drivers need to pay attention and monitor the roadway in front of them."

"Pavement is going to buckle when we reach these temperatures."

The agency received more than a dozen reports of buckling pavement on Wednesday July 4th.
