Girl remains in critical condition after near-drowning

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- An 8-year-old girl who was found unconscious in a southeast Wisconsin pool this week remains in critical condition.
Police say the girl was in a pool Tuesday afternoon at the Wirth Aquatic Center in Brookfield. She was found unresponsive in water about 4 feet deep.
Lifeguards and paramedics performed CPR. She was taken to a hospital, where she was in critical condition Wednesday morning.
