MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee's lakefront is decorated with dozens of tents filled with families awaiting the July 3rd fireworks display.

"This is my fourth year," explains Michelle Hagan of Allenton who is joining a group that is back for the 15th consecutive year.

"We discuss it ahead of time, everyone brings a meal.  We've got breakfast we're having scrambled eggs and sausage and coffee."

Hagan traveled from Allenton with her fiance' Joe Roma to wait nearly 40 hours in sweltering weather.

"It's a spectacular view," says Roma.  "We have front row seating for what I have to say is the best fireworks show in the country.  It's an awesome display of celebrating our freedom."

Just a few feet away lies another cluster of tents.

"We coordinate it all so we all can combine efforts and food so we don't bring too much, says Gina Madrano.  "We share everything."

Madrano has been arriving early for a prime fireworks seat for 20 years.

"It all started with my uncle and a friend he knows.  We just always get the same spot every year."

The display is not set to get underway until just after 9:00 Wednesday night, but the party is already underway at Veterans Park.
