Victim of fatal stabbing in Madison identified
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The mother of a woman whose new boyfriend was fatally stabbed at a Madison mobile home park says the crime was "all about jealousy and rage."
The Dane County medical examiner identifies the victim as 24-year-old Craig O'Donnell. He was killed Saturday night after he returned to the mobile home park with Bailey Koenig.
The woman's mother, Jean Leman, says the man accused of killing O'Donnell had dated her daughter through high school and couldn't deal with their breakup.
Leman tells the State Journal (http://bit.ly/NlhNYn ) the suspect called her Sunday morning to apologize for what he had done. He later turned himself in to authorities.
Leman says her daughter had been dating O'Donnell for about a month. He lived next door at the mobile home park.
