Green Bay man arrested in death of girlfriend
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay police have arrested a 31-year-old man after finding his girlfriend dead in the basement of their apartment.
The man was taken into custody Sunday on a tentative murder charge in the death of the 26-year-old woman, whose name has not been released.
The man is expected to be in court Monday afternoon.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports (http://gbpg.net/MD9ZGB ) the man went to a friend's house crying and said he had hurt his girlfriend. The friend called police at about 5 p.m. Saturday and urged them to check the apartment.
The man allegedly told investigators an argument between him and his girlfriend had become physical.
A four-year-old boy described as the victim's son from a previous relationship was found in the apartment unharmed.
