MILWAUKEE - An elderly man is in critical condition, but lucky to be alive after his neighbor spotted smoke coming underneathe the door to his apartment and called 9-1-1.
Firefighters found a small kitchen fire which was in the process of putting itself out, and the man unconscious in his bedroom.
It happened around 2:30 Saturday afternoon at 520 N. 20th Street.
He was transported to St. Lukes Hospital.
