Tips to remember before calling repair crew if your A/C doesn't work
MILWAUKEE - Southeastern Wisconsin's heat advisory was to last until 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.
If your air condition is on its last leg, check for a few things before calling your air conditioning repair person in a panic.
Temperatures near 100 degrees have people like D&M Heating and Air Conditioning Service Manager Jeff Goff busy.
Some calls have been for repairs, while others have been for installation.
"Our install crews are doing 2, 3, 4 installations a day trying to keep up," said Goff.
He gave these tips:
- Make sure the thermostat is set correctly
- Check your air filter
- Check your circuit breakers and your outdoor unit to ensure nothing is blocking it
If those steps don't help, it's time to call for help.
"It is only the end of June," warned D&M President Kurt Dodge.
"We've got a couple more months where it can be very, very hot in Milwaukee."
