Gas leak stopped on Milwaukee's east side
MILWAUKEE- A gas leak has been plugged after a service line was struck Monday evening on Milwaukee's east side.
Authorities responded to the leak around 6:02 p.m. near 1815 E. Kenilworth Pl. when people inside Cans Bar and Canteen smelled gas.
The line was struck during construction on the sidewalk.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reports Cans Bar and Canteen, and The Hotch Spot were evacuated.
No one has been treated for any adverse side effects to the gas.
North Avenue between Farwell and Oakland is shut down in both directions Monday evening.
No other details have been released.
