Ashwaubenon father arrested in death of infant
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) -- Police in the Green Bay area say a father who laid his infant daughter face down on a couch should be charged with reckless homicide.
Thirty-year-old Scott Conklin, of Ashwaubenon has posted $5,000 cash bail and is out of jail. Conklin has not been formally charged.
His attorney, Craig Mastantuono, says Conklin denies he caused his daughter's death.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers arrested Conklin Wednesday, saying he had withdrawn all of his money from his bank accounts and was headed for a job in Texas.
WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/L8dnUc ) reports Brown County Assistant District Attorney Amy Pautzke says authorities are not alleging that Conklin intentionally killed his daughter, but that a crime was committed.
Authorities say Conklin performed CPR when he discovered his daughter didn't have a pulse June 8.
