MILWAUKEE - Thousands of runners have set their sights on Milwaukee's lakefront for the second annual Summerfest Rock 'n Sole run on Saturday.

The event is sold out, and organizers are hoping to learn from mistakes they made in 2011.

That run was marred by extreme heat and a lack of water.  Some runners were hospitalized.

7,400 runners from 40 states and five countries were to take part in the 2012 edition of the half-marathon, quarter-marathon and 5k race.

"Last year's race, the inaugural race, we ran into some challenges, extreme heat," said Summerfest Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Boler.

"We listened to the race community, the runner community and the key aspects they wanted to see us address."

He explained that Summerfest changed the race directors and the course setups.

"We're pleased to have made some changes.  We can promise you we won't have any water distribution issues this year, and we're excited about this year's race," explained Boler.

The run begins at 7:00 a.m. Saturday near the Summerfest grounds.
