Search for suspect after deadly Sheboygan shooting
SHEBOYGAN - Police in Sheboygan were searching Monday for a suspect after someone shot and killed a man from that city.
Captain James Veeser says officers went to St. Nicholas Hospital on Saturday night on a report of a 24-year-old man who had been shot. He was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he later died.
Veeser says the shooting happened in a house and was not a random act -- the victim and shooter knew one another and that investigators know the identity of the suspect.
Police declined to release any other details about the shooting.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
But eyewitness Asher Heimermann says that two women and a man were taken into custody after police in at least nine marked squad cars surrounded the block at about 8 p.m.
