MILWAUKEE - Friends, family, and strangers touched by the story, attended the funeral Saturday for a 13 year old boy, shot to death, allegedly by his elderly neighbor.

Many came to support Darius Simmons' mother, saying no parent should have to witness their child be murdered.

Police say Simmons was confronted by 75 year old John Spooner May 31st about a theft at Spooner's home, which the boy denied.

The case has received national attention and his funeral was attended by members of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Coalition, who say they will continue to seek justice for Simmons and also for his mother, who says she was ordered to stay in a police car during her son's last moments alive.

The funeral service was held at All Peoples Church at 2600 N. Second Street in Milwaukee.
