Semi crashes through woods in Waukesha County
TOWN OF SUMMIT- A semi crashed into the woods in Waukesha County. Crews have to cut down trees near Highway 67 in the town of Summit to get it out.
Police say a driver with a medical condition sent a semi off the road and racing through a forest snapping trees like toothpicks.
According to police, the semi lost control on Highway 67, went down a hill and through a pine forest. It didn't stop there, the truck continue snapping trees in its path the length of two football fields.
Investigators told TODAY'S TMJ4 they already have a good idea what caused the crash. "It does appear that he was having some sort of medical event at the time; at this time we don't know what that was though, he was transported to Aurora Summit," said Summit Police Officer Michael Sterwald.
Its not clear what condition the driver and his son are in Thursday night.
TODAY'S TMJ4 contacted Red Rock Trucking and are waiting for them to return the call.
