Hilbert man charged with driving into motorcyclists
FOND DU LAC- A Hilbert man is now charged with driving into a group of motorcyclists last week, killing one of them and critically injuring three others.
Twenty-five-year-old Clinton Lovelace was charged Tuesday with second-degree reckless homicide.
WLUK-TV reports Lovelace also is charged with three counts of second-degree reckless injury, one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, and one count of felony bail-jumping.
Officials say Lovelace's car crossed the center line on Highway 151 Thursday and hit 10 motorcycles riding back to Michigan. Fifty-nine-year-old Daniel Lee Winsemius of Twin Lake, Mich., died in the crash.
According to the complaint, Lovelace told police he doesn't remember the crash.
Bail was set at $75,000 cash. Lovelace returns to court June 15 for a preliminary hearing. Online court records do not indicate a defense attorney.
