WAUWATOSA - A seven-year-old girl from Campbellsport was receiving treatment at Children's Hospital Monday morning in Wauwatosa after an arrow struck her.

The Fond du Lac County sheriff's department says Aryanna Schneeberg was walking down Main Street at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday night when she was hit in the back.

Campbellsport Elementary Principal Connie Strand told TODAY'S TMJ4 that on Monday afternoon they heard the girl is "doing well."

Sheriff Myland "Mick" Fink says investigators will track the arrow backward as they try to find out who shot it.  "I don't know the real specifics of where the arrow went through, but i know it came dangerously close to a few vital organs," said Fink.

Fink says he doesn't believe there's a threat to public safety because of the incident.

He says there are no archery ranges in the area where the girl was hit, and that it's mainly a residential neighborhood.
