Wisconsin pilot killed in Kansas plane crash
CHANUTE, Kansas - The pilot of a twin engine Cessna that crashed in Kansas Friday afternoon hailed from Wisconsin.
The Tulsa World newspaper reports 23-year-old Luke Sheets of Ephraim, Wisconsin, was killed, along with 27-year-old Austin Anderson of Ringwood, Oklahoma, 29-year-old Garrett Coble of Tulsa, Oklahoma and 22-year-old Stephen Luth of Muscatine, Iowa.
Three are recent graduates of Oral Roberts University and the fourth is a business instructor.
A fifth person on the plane survived, but was badly injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating and a spokesman tells the newspaper, the eight-seat plane had departed from Tulsa with a destination of Council Bluffs, Iowa, when they lost contact with air traffic control shortly after getting permission to descend to a lower altitude.
