Dane Co. deputies stop 2 jail suicide attempts
MADISON- Dane County sheriff's deputies have stopped two inmates who authorities say tried to hang themselves in jail.
The separate attempts happened just after 6:30 p.m. Friday. The sheriff's office says a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from Madison, had tied bedsheets around their necks and to cell bars.
Deputies were close by and quickly intervened. Neither inmate lost consciousness or was hurt.
Both inmates were moved to new locations and placed on suicide precautions.
