Police: Report of 16 officers suspended is incorrect
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police say a report by a local television station that 16 officers have been suspended is wrong.
Police aren't taking issue with the allegation that the officers assigned to the criminal justice facility were doing personal business during working hours. However, the department says the officers aren't actually suspended at this point.
Police say Chief Edward Flynn confirmed an investigation into the officers, but not the suspensions.
"Discipline has not been served," said the department in a statement.
Police said the department would notify the Fire and Police Commission when it disciplines any member of its staff.
