Flynn calls firing of 4 MPD officers coincidental
MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee's police chief is downplaying news that four officers have been fired this month.
"These are examples of the system working," argued Police Chief Ed Flynn to reporters Wednesday.
Flynn is insisting there's no pattern of behavior and he calls a rash of firings a coincidence, "We have a code of conduct that we take seriously. We conduct thorough investigations of wrong doing and we hold ourselves accountable."
Flynn said the firings were no more statistically significant than having five homicides in a week in January.
Four officers have been terminated this month for offenses including excessive force, drunk driving, interfering with a homicide investigation and an officer making inappropriate comments to co-workers.
