GAB predicts recall primary turnout of 30-35 percent
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state elections board is predicting a voter turnout of 30 percent to 35 percent in next week's primaries.
That would equate to between 1.3 million and 1.5 million of the state's eligible voters.
The Government Accountability Board issued its turnout prediction Thursday. The GAB had also predicted a 35 percent turnout ahead of last month's presidential primary election, although the actual number ended up closer to 25 percent.
Tuesday's primary will feature four Democrats vying for the chance to unseat Republican Gov. Scott Walker in a recall election June 5. They are Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Secretary of State Doug La Follette and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout.\
Walker faces Arthur Kohl-Riggs in a Republican primary.
