5 museums create Milwaukee Museum Mile
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Five small and medium-sized museums in Milwaukee are promoting each other in hopes they are better off working together than alone.
The museums have created what they call the Milwaukee Museum Mile, since all are within a mile and often are overlooked by visitors.
They are The Jewish Museum Milwaukee, The Charles Allis Art Museum, Museum of Wisconsin Art at St. John's On The Lake, The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum and the North Point Lighthouse at Lake Park.
They will have each other's brochures and offer a coupon to the other museums.
A spokesman for two of the museums, John Sterr, says they hope to put up banners at some point to identify the area.
A kickoff event is Sunday when admission is free to the museums.
