Voces de la Frontera touts Falk support in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - The state's largest immigrants rights group hit the streets Sunday by the thousands in Milwaukee.
Democratic candidate Kathleen Falk was at their side. She currently trails Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the polls for the upcoming Democratic primary on May 8th.
"Voces de la Frontera has been on the frontline of making sure people have the right to vote," says Falk.
The group, who has blasted Governor Scott Walker and his policies, threw support behind behind the former Dane County Executive.
"I have been out there this whole last year working side by side with citizens like here at Voces," says Falk.
The frontrunner in the race, Mayor Barrett, brushed aside the endorsement from the Milwaukee-based group.
"Quite honestly, that was an endorsement before I even got into the race," says Mayor Barrett.
"I understand these groups made endorsements before I got into the race."
Barrett is touting his own endorsements, including U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, state Senators Erpenbach and Cullen and the Milwaukee Police union.
He also says he's confident he'll receive several new endorsements with a win on May 8th.
"I know that they will be with me after the primary."
