MPS to unveil 2012-13 budget; many cuts likely
MILWAUKEE - This week, the Milwaukee Public Schools was expected to unveil its budget plan for the 2012-13 school year.
The plan was likely to include a lot of cuts, something districts like Kenosha are dealing with - particularly in the area of job cuts.
The public was expected to find out how many job cuts would be expected in MPS after teachers voted down a proposal to give all but a .5 percent raise back to the district.
A MPS meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday. An MPS spokeswoman says that the budget will not be discussed at the meeting.
