MILWAUKEE - Ryan Braun, the National League's most valuable player, could be called to testify in the Roger Clemens federal perjury trial.
The names of potential witnesses were read aloud by attorneys to potential jurors in Federal Court in Washington, D.C., this week. Braun's name was among those mentioned, according to Seth Livingstone, a USA Today reporter who first reported the story.
Braun could be called to testify on the issue of performance enhancing drugs in major league baseball.
Braun tested positive for a banned substance but successfully appealed a 50-game suspension.
A call to Braun's attorney was not returned.
