Prison's food service building to be remodeled
WAUPUN, Wis. (AP) -- Remodeling the Waupun state prison's aging food service building is expected to begin in November.
State building commissioners have approved spending more than $6 million to update the kitchen and make other improvements.
The Department of Corrections says the 1914 food service building was last remodeled in 1965. Facilities manager Kevin Reid-Rice says it desperately needs an overhaul.
The Fond du Lac Reporter (http://fondul.ac/IsI33R ) says a well will also be added at the prison and a cell block will get a new roof.
