Madison couple expected to enter pleas in teen torture case
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A husband and wife accused of torturing and starving the man's teenage daughter and forcing her to live in their basement are expected to enter pleas in court.
The Madison couple is scheduled to be in court Monday to respond to charges of reckless endangerment, child abuse and child neglect.
Prosecutors also accuse the girl's stepbrother of sexually assaulting her. He is scheduled to enter pleas to a charge of child abuse and two counts of sexual assault at the same proceeding.
The Associated Press isn't naming any of those accused to avoid identifying the girl. She was 15-years-old when she was found wandering barefoot outside in February, underdressed and severely underweight.
