WEST ALLIS- Two people linked to bar robberies in West Allis are behind bars and charged with two counts of armed robbery.
The men are accused of committing several taverns, but a robbery at a convenience store gave away their identities.
West Allis police say Kenneth Kowis and Tyler Tiedke's brazen days of robbing taverns at gunpoint are over.
Police say not only did the pair rob Sir Gregory's Pub -- but say both are seen robbing Lynch's in West Allis.
Police say that same day, Tiedke robbed a convenience store in Slinger.
According to the criminal complaint -- officers there found Tiedke's Planet Fitness and Speedway key chain cards left behind after the alleged robbery -- giving investigators Tiedke's identity and later they found Kowis.
"That's a great thing and hopefully we work well with local law enforcement to get this stuff put to an end," said Rob Swearingen, president of the Tavern League of Wisconsin.
About 200 Milwaukee area bars participate with Tavern League of Wisconsin.
The group encourages all bar employees to watch for each other to stay safe. "We have our own network also of information -- so with something like that we spread the word," asserted Swearingen.
He hopes a network like that will make employees at Sir Gregory's Pub and Lynch's feel safe about who walks through the door.
Tiedke is behind bars in Washington County for his alleged involvement in the robbery in Slinger. Kowis remains behind bars in Milwaukee. If convicted on these robberies they face up to 80 years in prison.
