Former Lt. Governor Lawton endorses Barrett in Walker recall race

MADISON - A former lieutenant governor who served under then-Governor Jim Doyle says she is throwing her support behind current Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the Democratic gubernatorial recall election primary.
“Tom Barrett is a leader we can trust, he's our best and strongest candidate to defeat Scott Walker," said Barbara Lawton in a statement.
Barrett is expected to face former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, longtime Secretary of State Doug La Follette and Alma State Senator Kathleen Vinehout in a primary on May 8th.
The winner will battle Walker in a general recall election on June 5th.
