Search continues for woman who jumped off Hoan Bridge; body found in river
MILWAUKEE- The Milwaukee police and Milwaukee fire department are looking for a woman that jumped off the Hoan Bridge and into the a river Tuesday night.
Dive teams, the Coast Guard, MPD and MFD went searching for the woman Tuesday night, but couldn't find her as of midnight Tuesday. MPD and MFD started their search back up Wednesday morning.
The Milwaukee County sheriff's department was called out to the Hoan Bridge around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday after witnesses saw a woman park her car on the bridge, then jump over the railing and land in the river.
Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Milwaukee police discovered a woman's body in the Milwaukee River. The Milwaukee County sheriff's detectives have not yet made positive ID of the woman yet.
Authorities haven't said if the body found is that of the woman believed to have jumped off the Hoan Bridge.
