Candlelight vigil planned for drowned UWM student
MILWAUKEE - UWM was to hold a candlelight vigil Monday for a student who drowned in a campus pool.
Connor Driscoll, 19, died last Monday while swimming with his roommate at the Klotsche Center.
Driscoll was swimming with his roommate, doing flips and somersaults underwater when he appeared to sink at the end of the pool.
Lifeguards immediately pulled him out of the pool, attempted CPR, but they were unsuccessful. They used the defibrillator and that didn't work and the Milwaukee Fire Department came in and was unable to revive him.
Driscoll, 19, was from Madison and had an undeclared major.
The vigil has been scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Spaights Plaza on the UWM campus.
