Storm Team 4
Break Thursday before more rain, snow
MILWAUKEE - For one day, Southeastern Wisconsin is set get a break from the recent pattern of mixed rain and snow.
Storm Team 4Caster Scott Steele explains that the weather system that rocked Northern Wisconsin with snow, and doused our area with rain, has moved past us.
"Yesterday's big winter storm which brought heavy rain here and heavy, wet snow to Northern Wisconsin has pulled well off to our east," said Steele, who forecasted a cloudy but dry day.
"We'll get a brief break in the action for today, but still deal with plenty of clouds."
Then, precipitation returns Friday to our area, according to Steele.
"Another disturbance approaches us from the west on Friday and we'll finish the work week with another round of mixed precipitation changing to rain as the mercury rises back to near 40 degrees," explained Steele.
"That rain will change back to snow late in the day and could have an impact on the evening commute even though accumulations shouldn't be much more than a couple inches or so mainly to the north and west of Milwaukee."
