Second $1 million lottery winner in a week steps forward
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Lottery says a lottery ticket worth $1 million has been sold in Marshfield. It's the second million-dollar winner in the state in less than a week.
Lottery officials say the latest winner came in the Mega Millions game.
One player matched all five regular winning numbers in Friday's drawing. That qualified the player for a $250,000 prize. But because the player also bought the game's multiplier feature, the prize was multiplied by four.
The winner has six months to get the ticket validated and claim the money.
The jackpot comes six days after a West Allis woman won a $1 million Powerball prize. Christy Stanczak decided to take a lump sum, which came out to $672,500 after taxes.
