MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is warning distraught Green Bay Packers fans not to drown their sorrow about the team not being in the Super Bowl when watching the game on Sunday.
The Packers were ousted from the playoffs by the New York Giants, who play the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
State Patrol Maj. Sandra Huxtable says the key is for people to plan ahead so they are not driving drunk after the game.
She encourages party hosts to have non-alcoholic drinks and plenty of food available.
The DOT plans to air a new federally funded television commercial during the Super Bowl and throughout February warning against drunken driving.
