MUSKEGO - Residents are taking action to try to stop a lakefront park from moving forward in Muskego.

Today's TMJ4's Tom Murray reports, opponents have gathered signatures, as the city presses forward with a plan to tear down a handful of beautiful mansions, to make room for a park.

It's known as the Muskego Lake Park Project.

They believe they need just under 18-hundred signatures to put the park plan to a citywide referendum vote.

It would reportedly cost more than three million dollars to buy the properties.

Muskego's common council voted 4-3 to move forward with the project.

Supporters, including the mayor, say the park will be a centerpiece for a revitalized downtown, attracting more retailers.
