WAUWATOSA - Southeast Wisconsin is digging out after the first winter storm of the season dropped several inches of snow Thursday.
"I knew it had to come sooner or later, so I'm ready," said Donna Carpenter, who spent part of her Friday morning shoveling. "I would have enjoyed the mild winter."
Just around the block, Jose Ornelas earned a little extra cash clearing snow.
"We've been waiting for it you know," he explained. "It's been a long stretch since we've finally got some good snow."
"I'm a cross country skier and I have a race next month," said Mike O'Reilly, who was walking his dog nearby. "So I've got to get skiing. We need it."
