Snow accumulating in Cedarburg
CEDARBURG - Snow has begun to accumulate in parts of Cedarburg as the first big snowfall of 2012 hits Southeastern Wisconsin.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Cody Holyoke reported from just outside The Java House, a popular cafe spots in Cedarburg, and people were going in to warm up from the cold.
Meanwhile, Cedarburg DPW crews made a pre-emptive strike to lay down salt and make things less slippery for drivers.
"With the snow coming later, the biggest thing that we can do at this point is start putting down salt to make sure it doesn't get slippery. Once we get about 2" or so, we'll then sent the plow out and start pushing it to the side," said Tom Wiza of the Cedarburg Department of Public Works.
Salt trucks have continually been making rounds, putting brine on the roads to keep things melted on the streets.
