Packers to give 70,000 handwarmers to fans at Sunday's game
GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers say they will be giving 70,000 handwarmers to fans attending the Packers-New York GIants playoff game.
That game will happen Sunday with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. CT.
The team is working with Mills Fleet Farm and Bellin Health on the promotion.
Temperatures are set to be in the 20's, as of current forecasts, for the game.
Dr. Don Hartig of Bellin Health gave these suggestions for fans attending the game:
- "Wear loose, dry layers, but don't overdress. Give yourself the opportunity to shed layers to adjust to weather changes. Try a mix of cotton or wool underneath, with something waterproof on top."
- "Wear a hat."
- "Mittens will offer more warmth to your hands than gloves."
- "Once the game is over and you have the chance, get out of your wet clothing and warm up using a blanket. Drink warm fluids but don't immediately jump into a steaming hot shower or bath."
