Report: Raiders plan to hire Packers' McKenzie as GM
GREEN BAY - A published report says that the Packers' director of football operations may be on the way to Oakland to become the team's general manager.
ESPN's Adam Schefter says that the Raiders plan to have Reggie McKenzie take over the duties of completely overseeing that team's football operations.
Late Raiders Managing General Partner Al Davis had that role among his many responsibilities before he passed away in 2011.
McKenzie, a former linebacker, played with the Raiders from 1985-88. He has served Green Bay since 1994.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, former Packers GM and longtime Raiders staff member Ron Wolf recommended McKenzie to Oakland.
