Aaron Rodgers talks about watching Flynn from the sidelines, New Years
GREEN BAY- It's time for our exclusive one on one interview with Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron didn't have to break a sweat Sunday--watching his friend and teammate Matt Flynn have a record-setting day.
That's just one of the topics Aaron talks about this week with 620 WTMJ's Wayne Larrivee.
WAYNE: "Aaron, we're here in the Leinie's Lodge, I'm sure you'll pour us a beverage before we're done here."
AARON: "Yeah, I don't know if there's any kegs left."
WAYNE: "The joy you and your teammates had for the kind of day Matt Flynn was having... talk about that"
AARON: "Matt's a great guy, and a guy who has really endeared himself to his teammates by the way he handles himself, and the way he's really progressed as a player... It's no surprise to me how well he played yesterday--maybe he didn't expect 6 touchdowns and 480 yards, but he was incredible."
WAYNE: "Mike McCarthy didn't let you just sit on the sidelines and cheer-lead. You had a headset on, you were talking to Matt Flynn the whole game."
AARON: "Well, he let me do some stuff in the first half, some no huddle stuff... So I like to think I called some decent plays, and Matt made them work."
WAYNE: "Playoff run much different this year. You were the Number 6 seed, barely in last year, this year you're the Number 1 seed. What's your mentality?"
AARON: "I think it's great to know we'll be in the friendly confines of this incredible stadium... We know teams are trying to come here and knock us off, but we have a lot to play for."
WAYNE: "When you get to this bye week, what do you do? Don't know who your gonna play, can't really prepare for anyone specifically.
AARON: "Well I think you have to get refreshed mentally and physically to make sure you're feeling good by the time next week rolls around. Some guys like to get a massage, some guys hot tub, cold tub treatment."
WAYNE: "What did you do for New Years?
AARON: "New Year's Eve I was at the hotel, and yesterday I went to bed early. I watched a little Star Wars though. Star Wars was having a marathon, they had 4, 5, and 6, and I think when I was a kid it was 1, 2, 3, so when I got to 'The Empire Strikes Back', which for some reason is Star Wars 5, got through about half of that and fell asleep."
WAYNE: "You got time this bye week to catch up."
AARON: "I think it was Spike TV. Hopefully they rerun that."
WAYNE: "You gotta be prepared for the playoff games, you gotta be focused, can't waste time in a gabfest with us every Monday, so this will be the last show. We're ending it, right now, we need you focused for the playoffs, only for the playoffs."
WAYNE, CREW, and AARON HUDDLE: "Let's go, 'Playoffs' on three. 1, 2, 3 Playoffs!"
