Day care provider sentenced for fraud
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- An Elkhorn woman has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison and must repay the state $355,000 for defrauding Wisconsin's day care subsidy program.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/s3ReHU ) that 44-year-old Angela Stott must also serve five years of extended supervision after she completes the prison term.
She was convicted last month on two counts of theft by false representation.
Stott held the license for Little Angel Academy, which was suspended from the Wisconsin Shares program in February 2010. It was one of dozens of centers receiving payments for children who rarely or never attended.
