Wis. senator facing recall reports raising $37K
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Republican state senator facing a possible recall election says he has raised $37,000 since July.
Van Wanggaard of Racine filed campaign finance reports with state election officials Thursday covering the period between July 1 and this past Saturday.
The reports show he raised $37,121 and spent $10,405 over that period. He had $53,154 in the bank.
Wanggaard is one of four Republican senators facing possible recalls next year.
Democrats and their allies are angry with them over their support for Republican Gov. Scott Walker's divisive collective bargaining law, which strips most public workers of nearly all their union rights.
