American Airlines parent company files for bankruptcy
MILWAUKEE - A major American airline has decided to file for Chapter 11 reorganization in a federal bankruptcy court.
The parent company for American Airlines and American Eagle filed the Chapter 11 petitions in a New York court.
The company said it was operating normal flight schedules and its other operations or frequent flyer programs as usual.
American Eagle operates two gates at Mitchell International Airport's C terminal.
The airline operates flights to Chicago and Dallas.
