MILWAUKEE - Governor Walker's opponents are trying to collect over 500,000 signatures and there is a YouTube video is raising concerns about recall petitions, just as recall organizers say they have collected more than 100,000 signatures.

The video was shot during the Occupy Milwaukee event.

It shows what appears to be children signing the petition, and what appears to be a Recall Walker petitioner and his badge.

Some conservative groups say two of the people are too young to sign the petition, but the Democratic Party says they've checked out those claims.

Wisconsin Democratic Party spokesman Graeme Zielinski said, "there are two women who are of age who signed the recall petition, end of story."

It raises questions as to what is legal for recall petitions.

"Somebody who is 18 or older, who is a resident of the State of Wisconsin for 28 days prior to an election, who doesn't have a disability of the courts or (is) a felon," said Attorney Michael Maistelman.

If you suspect petition fraud, election officials encourage you to contact your district attorney or local police.

And another video popped up after this weekend's rallies at the Capitol.

A man by the name of Pete, who didn't want TODAY'S TMJ4 using his last name, claims, "I saw an arm come up and all of a sudden there was a hot cup of coffee in my face."

Pete claims the recall supporter threw the coffee because he is a walker supporter.

Keith Best saw the whole thing, and says he helped nab the alleged coffee tosser.

He told TODAY'S TMJ4, "He must have thought he hit a brick wall because I'm 6'6" 260.  He stopped immediately, I wrapped my arms around him, and I said, that's assault."

Pete and Keith Best say they are glad it was all caught on camera, and say cameras will continue being used in this recall effort

State Republican Party chairman Brad Courtney is out of town, but says the Republican Party will continue to investigate any reports of fraud.

The Madison Police have indicated they will not press charges, they say the coffee was accidentally bumped onto the man.

  1. This is great shock media for those who reside outside of Milwaukee but for those of us whom live or work in the city and see the poverty on a daily basis, it is not unusual to see poor adults wearing clothes like these because they have nothing else
  2. TMJ4 has been duped by those on the Walker side who are fabricating election fraud stories. What a sad representation of local journalism.
  3. It's time for WTMJ "News" Team to take down this story. The YouTube video shows two women who are of legal voting age signing a recall petition. If you want to be considered a legitimate news source, you should be wary of the source of your "news."
  4. zoso--nice try on the ol' change the topic routine. The facts are that the recall is nothing but a power grab by the unions using people who don't know the facts about the reforms and who will cheat as far as the media will let them away with.
