MILWAUKEE - "Over the Edge" is a big fundraiser for Special Olympics Wisconsin. This year's goal is more than $50,000 as people rappel down the 17 story City Center.

"Our athletes are doing this everyday. They go out and face challenges everyday so the least we can do is rappel 17 stories," according to Kelly Lang with Special Olympics Wisconsin.

I put myself to the test. Would I have the guts to go over? First, I needed the gear, including a harness, gloves, and a helmet. Before the big drop, I got a little practice on a single story wall, but even that was a little scary.

Then it was time to try it with 17 stories of nothing below me. After the tough first step back, I dropped down, inch by inch. About ten of the longest minutes of my life later, I touched down, safe and sound.

The big event is Friday and you still have time to donate or sign up to rappel. You can click here for more details. The money supports events for 2,200 Special Olympians in the Milwaukee area.
