Democrat King ousts GOP's Hopper in District 18
OSHKOSH - Democrat Jessica King says she is proud she ousted a Republican senator who she believes had lost touch with voters.
New State Senator Jessica King thanked her supporters in Oshkosh after defeating Republican Randy Hopper.
She told her supporters that she is ready to lead and get to work.
"I just want to thank everyone in this room for your contribution to democracy, for your willingness to say it matters whether or not I participate in my democracy," said King.
It was a nail biter in the race, but State Senator Jessica King took 51 percent of the vote in District 18.
