Neighbors speak out about alleged murderers
BROOKFIELD - A day after deputies brought Tommy Douyette and Lynn Hajny to court, neighbors are shedding light on the suspects.
Josh Stewart, Douyette's neighbor in Milwaukee, didn’t even know what had happened until TODAY'S TMJ4 showed him court paperwork.
Police say Douyette assaulted and killed businessman John Aegerter in the man’s Brookfield home this week.
"I briefly talked to him here and there, and he seemed like a really nice guy," Stewart said.
Stewart says Douyette lives with his father and is a helpful guy who keeps to himself.
"There’s a possibility he could have anger issues. I’ve talked to him about some things that have gone on around here. It seems like if anything did happen, he could go off the deep end," Stewart explained.
Miles away in New Berlin, Stuart Boretsky found out Friday his neighbor, Lynn Hajny, is in trouble with the law.
"I didn’t even realize it was her until they came over and told me that," he said.
As a criminal investigation continues, the people who thought they knew their neighbors, are left with a sour feeling of uncertainty.
"It really shocks me because I didn’t think she was that kind of a person who could do that to another person," Boretsky explained.
Both suspects will return to court to face criminal charges next week.
