MILWAUKEE -

"It's renal sarcoma," says the 59-year-old VandenBerg.  "It's a pretty bad form of cancer."

He still tries to work every day.

"I believe in miracles," he says.  "It's possible that this could change. I believe in the power of prayer and it's absolutely huge in what you can pull yourself through with just that."

An intergral part of Brewers baseball for more than half his life, VandenBerg is ready for whatever is next.

"I'm looking forward to going to heaven," he says.  "So in that sense, you know, I'm not... I'm not afraid to die."
