Capitol Chaos: Capitol Damage Report Expected
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin officials have yet to receive a report on damage by union protesters to the Capitol, but now expect it later this week.
Department of Administration spokeswoman Carla Vigue says the report was not received on Monday as expected. Vigue says it will be released once officials receive and review it.
Restoration expert Charles Quagliana would only say that he is "waiting for feedback" from the department. Quagliana says the report will detail the extent and the staff hours needed to repair damage caused by protesters demonstrating against Gov. Scott Walker's plan to curtail collective bargaining rights for most public employees.
DOA Secretary Mike Huebsch initially estimated it would cost $7.5 million to repair damage. He later revised that, saying it could cost as little as $350,000.
