Former Valedictorian Charged With Killing Toddler
MILWAUKEE - Prosecutors have charged a 26-year-old man with killing a 2-year-old boy last weekend.
Corey Benson is charged with First Degree Reckless Homicide and faces up to 60 years in prison on that count.
Benson is accused of killing the boy as he was babysitting him at his apartment last weekend. He tells authorities he left the boy in a bathtub alone and later returned to find the 2-year-old face down.
Investigators however have determined injuries the boy sustained are consistent with a beating with the official cause of death ruled multiple blunt force injuries.
Benson dated the boy's mother and last year was previously charged with abusing the boy.
